When ordering spirits and mixers ie drinks (vodka & lemonade, JD & coke etc), you will usually be given an option for either local spirits or what we call top shelf (Smirnoff etc). You;; find that the local spirits are significantly cheaper this is due to the fact that they are usually distilled in Spain.
One of the most obvious and notorious drinks available in Magaluf Jerikoff, or Rushkinoff, which is a close copy to its premium counterpart Smirnoff. One problem associated with the cheaper local spirit is that they don’t taste as the notorious ‘Rushkinoff Cough’. The symptoms of this are a soar throat and you’ll loose your voice slightly. However the Rushkinoff cough is only brought on by days of constant heavy drinking. We recommend switching some night to maybe lagers – this should help to avoid the dreaded Rushkinoff cough.
Once in Magaluf you’ll soon find that there is a cheaper equivalent to most of the drinks you find back home. This included shots and beers etc, which are also significantly cheaper.
